BismillahirRahmanirRaheem
Mawlana Sheikh Nazim; ….. Years ago as I was walking with my Grandsheikh in Damascus, a football that some boys were playing with hit me on the head and knocked off my turban. I got very angry and turned around, shouting; “ Oh you miserable, misbehaved brat!” Grandsheihk said; “Oh Nazim Effendi, you have just lost your faith. How can you claim to believe that everything comes from Allah Almighty when you are ready to blame someone for something that hits you on the head?Do you not know that Allah is the
Original Cause of that event? So why are you blinded by secondary causes? When that ball hit you why did you look to see which one threw it in order to quarrel with him? Do you not know that it is from Allah?”
Then I recited the confession of faith to renew my faith.
The level of faith that our Grandsheikh was referring to is the level of prophets and saints. We are
trying to attain to that level, and when men reach that level, peace will reign on earth. The reason for all trouble on earth, for all wars and suffering is that people have lost sight of their Lord’s Will behind all events. They have lost sight of the hand of the One Who is testing them through those events. They have stopped seeing events as tests from their Lord. Therefore they continue failing those tests.

Who is the happiest person in this life? Who is the most satisfied? He who is satisfied with that station in life in which his Lord put him. It is the station of contentment- to look at everything and see that it is most suitable for him, and also for all. You must say: “This situation is most suitable for me because my Lord put me in this situation. It it were no good for me, He wouldn’t have put me in it.” We must believe that Allah Almighty desires goodness for us, always.
Don’t be a teacher to Allah. He knows best, and you don’t know anything. Don’t make any objections for anything; you are servants, you are slaves to Him, and He is Governor, Absolute King of the Universe.
You must know that all actions, all events, are not going to happen as we like them to happen. Nothing happens, no one can be as we like them to be; it is impossible. When you know this, you may keep yourself far away from anger, because anger is the result of thinking that you can have everything as you want it to be.

All power is from Allah Almighty, and we must always ask for His support, because we are in need, we are weak ones. Allah Almighty ordered His Beloved Prophet S.Muhammad sws. to inform his Ummah that anything that is not begun with His Holy Name : “Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim”, will never be supported by Allah; it means it will never give fruit, and it must fail... If you say Allah’s Holy Name, you will take benefit from that action, and any harm, that may be in it will leave you. Whoever is feeling weak should say it, and power will come to his physical body and to his heart. The Besmela is the most important key for opening all treasures in the Heavens and on earth, and for opening all forms of knowledge. Allah Almighty has put three thousand of His Holy Names in it: 1ooo Names that are known only to the Angels, 1ooo Names known by the Prophets, 999 Names contained in the 4 Holy Books, and His Greatest Name. All of these Names are contained in the Besmela… Whoever is able to reach to the secret power of the Besmela should be dressed in miraculous powers. We, as servants of Allah, should say it at least 1oo times daily. If a person continues for 4o days, he should find some power, some changes in himself, especially if he says it one thousand times between Fajr and sunrise… From unseen worlds, from Malakut beautiful views will appear to him. According to the thickness of the veils of his heart, from 1x 4o days, up to 7x 4o days, there should be an opening… If not, it means that his heart is too occupied with Dunya, and he should try to put Dunya last, and then try again. It is a rule which can’t be wrong. Even in one day it may be opened, because it is so powerful…
Every time you say: “Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim”, it means that you are remembering the Lord: “Oh My Lord, I am remembering You!” And then Allah says: “Oh My servant, I am remembering you!”
Don’t forget! If you forget, you will be forgotten.

Once, daily, you must listen to your heart’s Dhikr. When you listen, you can hear your heart saying: ‘Allah, Allah…’.This is an important Wird, more important than the tongue’s Dhikr. This gives concentration to the whole body. The best time to do this is after midnight, at Tahajjud. First pray two Rakaats, then sit and listen to your heart’s Dhikr… Your concentration will grow from this point to where that Dhikr, the remembrance of your Lord, will be with you 24 hours a day. I am giving you Permission; it means to take that ‘electricity’ from the center which the Grandsheikhs are opening for us. When my Grandsheikh gave me permission, he was opening, from his heart to my heart, such a power.

Sohbat - January 13, 2002
BismillahirRahmanirRahim. We must be grateful, we are not in a war, we are healthy, and we have so many things while so many people are suffering. They asked me how I can provide for so many people every day, and I am not working. I said ‘With BismillahirRahmanirRahim’; may Allah not take the basmala out of our hearts! Who doesn’t use the basmala can’t save himself from bela/troubles, and the biggest bela
is to forget to say ‘Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim’. May Allah not make us forget it.. Grandsheikh was saying ‘All ways are closed except one, and that is to say ‘BismillahirRahmanirRahim’ with every movement’.. i not, nothing works. BismillahirRahmanirRahim is the only key for all mankind, it has a special tajalli/Divine Vision. Don’t fear and keep saying it all the time; it is the most important thing to be able to say ‘BismillahirRahmanirRahim’. Every locked door opens with Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim.. In the Night of Ascension, the Miraj, Gibrail alaihi salaam peace be upon him was accompanying the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wa sallam. There was a place, a makam, where there was a gate, a door, so magnificient, that it cannot be measured. And the Prophet was overwhelmed. And even he saw with his
spiritual vision, but he asked the Archangel: ‘To where does it open?’ From Allah’s wisdom the tajallis over that gate, its tajalli, colors and majesty change all the time.. it is another kind of door, a door belonging to the spiritual world. The tajalli over that door is not material, it changes constantly up to eternity. And its beauties add one over the other. May Allah open to us such a door!
It is like entering a palace, there are private doors that belong to the Sultan; you have to wait in front of that door and maybe it never opens for you, only for the King. You can enter Windsor-Castle but there is a part which you are not allowed to enter. So the Prophet peace be upon him saw that door and on it a lock; it’s not a lock like we know, it is a magnificient lock also. Colors enter from it like flashes, like lightening. The Prophet asked in his heart to see what was behind that door and he asked Gibrail: ‘How can we pen that door?’ And it is a special door, not for everyone. Therefore the angel said ‘Yes, you can see what is behind because everything was created for you.’ ‘I like to’, said the Prophet, ‘but where is the key?’ ‘The key has already been given to you’, said the angel. The Prophet knew but from the adab/well-manner that a servant of Allah has with his Lord, he was waiting
for the answer to come from the angel to him. A servant does not just enter the Presence of the Sultan, so even the Prophet knew how to enter but he was waiting for the Divine Permission. The angel said ‘The key is to say: BismillahirRahmanirRahim.’ When the Prophet said these words, the lock opened and the magnificient door, and he saw visions that are indescribable, not to be spoken of by any tongue.
Countless visions of the Divine Sultanate full of heybet/majesty and beauty. Can one count the rays of the sun? And who could approach the sun itself..! Allah’s Greatness is such that no one can be able to approach His Sultanate..! What did the Prophet see behind the door? He saw four springs of endless beauty. From where they spring? He saw them spring from a writing: BismillahirRahmanirRahim, and no one can see to where they flow. The basmala contains three Holy Names of Allah and who says it, will drink
from these four fountains. The people of Paradise drink from them; water, milk, honey and wine flow from them through each single Paradise. No one will suffer from thirst. Also who can read the Fatiha in one breath will drink from those fountains in that makam. We can only speak about some of the blessings that the basmala contains. Who respects the basmala, will get honor, and neither in dunya/world nor in barzah/hereafter or on the Day of Judgment will he have problems.. There was one woman who used to say BismillahirRahmanirRahim no matter what she did. Her husband was getting annoyed and he asked her why she was saying that all the time. She answered ‘When I am saying it, Allah is looking after me, providing for me, and everything is made easy for me.’ He wanted to test her and later on he gave her
some money asking her to hide it and keep it for him. She took the money with BismillahirRahmanirRahim and put it, saying BismillahirRahmanirRahim in a box which she hid with BismillahirRahmanirRahim in a special place. The man who knew the place went later on, took the money out secretly and hid it in a well. After some time the man said to his wife ‘O my wife, I need the money that I gave you to keep.
Please bring it to me.’ His wife went and opened the box, BismillahirRahmanirRahim. she put her hand inside, BismillahirRahmanirRahim, and took the money out which was dripping with water. She was surprised. She brought the money to him and he was ashamed. She asked him ‘What did you do with the money? Because I hid it in that box in that place and it could never get wet.’ He kissed her hand and said ‘O my wife, may Allah be pleased with you, you made me ashamed, you taught me the value of the
basmala.’ He wanted to test her and because she said the basmala, the angel connected with the basmala took the money out of the well and brought it to her. This is Haqq! No matter where he would have hidden the money, the angels would have brought it back. O Allah, don’t take the basmala from our tongues and out of our hearts!
